Zapier Actions: New Comment

Overview

The New Comment action can utilize a trigger to add a new comment to a record or a workspace within Zengine.  For example, when a task is created within Zengine, it can add a corresponding comment to in turn notify someone.  Ultimately this action allows you to create an audit trail note when performing actions in Zapier.

Preconfiguration

Before setting up an Action, you will need a Trigger that exists to initiate that Action. You can utilize Triggers from other apps, but if using triggers from Zengine, you can learn more about each trigger and how to set them up by navigating to the respective articles covering them in further details.

Setup

Once you have selected New Comment as your action, you will need to select your Zengine account.

At this point, you can set up options relating to that specific action.

For New Comment, you will need to designate a workspace and optionally a form, record, and/or comment. Use the Comment field to customize the comment that you'd like to be adding as a result of this action. 

If you would like to specifically notify someone in the comment, use @{{username}} and enter their Zengine username between the brackets.

Using the plus sign in the top right corner of the Comment box, you can also add in data from existing fields on the trigger record.  For example, you can populate the Record ID from the trigger record:

Next, you will need to Test.  Zapier will need to create a new comment to test, and will present to you what will be created:

If the test is successful, you will receive this screen:

Click Finish to save this Zap.
